If you are wanting to use the Java based Web Client to view and manage your
maps from a web browser (or even use a stand-alone java app), then I doubt
you have to mess around with the oid_to_type file. You will need to install
a java plugin for your browser, configure some webserver files on your
NetView Server and register/start the webserver daemon. All the information
you need to do this is in the NetView 6.0 Release Notes. Check the 6.0.1
Release Notes for any addition info and/or known limitations.
If you need more assistance on installing/using the Web Client, please open
a problem ticket with support and we would be glad to step you through it.

Subject: [NV-L] HTTP Management
I am running AIX 4.3.3 with NV 6.0.1
I would like to start using NetView from the web interface. Most of my
network is already discovered. If I edit the oid_to_type file and add
the W field to each type, will that update already discovered devices
so that they can be managed from the web site? If not, how do I do
this?
Thanks
