I am buffaloed by this. There is code in trapd to automatically format all
netmon traps, even if their definitions have been removed from trapd.conf,
so that they never cause a problem like this, and on my 5.1.3 system this
does not happen. 50790426 is not in my trapd.conf and yet the trap formats
just fine.
You are correct that this series of traps is not documented, and it
probably should be, but they are all just informational ones about netmon
options that someoen has selected. For example you get the action event
when someone with root authority types in "netmon -a <numeric value>";
"netmon -a 21" for example.
What are the other ones? One of the netmon guys volunteered this
information:
50790422 /* Netmon Change trace file */
50790423 /* Netmon Change trace mask */
50790424 /* Netmon Dump node */
50790425 /* Netmon Dump interface */
50790426 /* Netmon Action */
All of these are Log Only infromation traps whihc documents that netmon trace
parms have been altered and all of them should
format just fine without an entry in trapd.ocnf. I simply have no idea why
yours don't. Works on my 6.0.2 system too

Subject: [NV-L] Netmon specific trap: 50790426 (Netmon action event)
Hello All,
I have: Netview server at 5.1.3.0, AIX is at 4.3.3.0.
I searched the TKG web site, Netview Admin Guide & online help to no avail
for the trap below.
The Admin Guide has info for traps 50790423 & 427, but
skips over 424, 425 & 426 -- if they all exist, I see that 426 does.
Trap found with no known format in trapd.conf(4)
Enterprise netView6000 (1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3.1) community public
generic trap:6 specific trap:50790426

Any insight would be greatly appretiated.
Thanks for your help,
