Controling the Number of mail alerts

Hi,

I had NV Ver 6.0 on AIX 4.3.3 with patch for NV 6.0.1
I had applied events filter to get only one event out of 5 events in a min.
to be displayed on the control desk. but the alert generated does not get
controlled by this procedure it send the alert to all the events. Is there
any way to control no. of alerts generated for he same event.
