Linda,
You should use the "colmaint" utility in /usr/OV/bin.
colmaint -d <myfile> will dump the smartset (Collection) rules to a file
that can be loaded with
colmaint -l <myfile> on another NetView.
Here is the help for the command:

Usage: colmaint -d | -l [filename]
-d [filename] Dump SmartSets from the object database.
-l [filename] Load SmartSets into the object database.
Note: The default filename is /usr/OV/conf/collection.conf.
You can specify an alternative filename by specifying [filename].

Usage: colmaint -r <SmartSet name> [-o <oid>]
Use the -r option to remove a SmartSet entry
from the database. Use -o to specify the object
        id of the SmartSet.
nvcold must not be running to use this option.

Usage: colmaint -v
Use the -v option to view the SmartSet entries
        in the object database.

Subject: [NV-L] smartset configs

We recently installed from scratch a new Netview for Unix version 6. We
have already defined many "collections" or "smartsets" on another system
running version 5 netview for Unix. Is there an easy way to copy our
collections or smartsets configuration to the new version? I cannot seem
to find the config file I might copy .. I thought I might do nvUtil G to a
file and alter it to do nvUtil a to add all the collections this way. Am I
missing a much simpler approach?
