Carlos,
Update to my previous post...

SmartSets work with the Selection Name of the object
The "Selection Name" in the object database for an interface will look like
this:
<NODE>:<INTERFACE>

NODE will be the IP Address of the router -OR- the name if it can be
resolved.
INTERFACE will be the IP Address of the interface -OR- the name of the
interface if it has been named in the agent.

Carlos,
I believe what you are describing is related to name resolution.
The Interfaces whose node name could be resolved AT DISCOVERY TIME are
registered in the object database as <router_name>:<interface_ip>....
If the router name could not be resolved AT DISCOVERY TIME, the interface
will be called <router_ip>:<interface_ip>.
Pull down: Tools-->Display Object Information to verify what name was
assigned AT DISCOVERY TIME.
The only way to fix this is:
1.Verify that the router name resolves.
2. Delete and rediscover the interfaces or better yet, the router.

Hope this helps,
Don Davis (Fila owner) :)

Subject: [NV-L] Smartsets and object labels

Hello

I'm having a small smartset problem in Netview 6.0.1 for Solaris.
Generally speaking, this smartset is supposed to show only router
interfaces.
However, some are shown as

<router_name>:<interface_ip>

... while others have just IP addresses as their labels.

(On the topology map, all interfaces are shown just with their IPs.)
How can I make my smartset show all interfaces using only the
<router_name>:<interface_ip> label I've mentioned before ?

... and no, I don't want to change labels manually.

Any help is welcome !
