You should not use location.conf files greater than 1000 lines long.
This is a documented restriction. It may be causing your problem.
You should also upgrade to the Version 6.0.2 NetView which has been
available for over six months. Then you will be able to send your file
to Tivoli Service for analysis (they won't work on any system except the
current one).
Personally, I've not had any trouble with 6.0.2 and location.conf. I
suspect something you've put in the location.conf file is causing the
problem if it's not due to the size of the file. For example, the text
in the distributed location.conf file warns you that overlapping ranges
are unpredictable; 192.168.0-250, 192.168.10-20 and 192.168.21-255 is an
example of an overlap which could be accidentally created. I could see
where this might cause the effect you describe.
I'd suggest you upgrade and call Tivoli Support or find a consultant who
can work with you. This is not something easily handled through a
mailing list since it will take quite a bit of time to analyze the 1600
lines in your location.conf against your object database.
