Two thoughts:
 
1. If you are using pings for status polls, the addresses on the serial
links may not be "routed" address (i.e. Netview can't ping them)
2. If you are using SNMP status polls (use the $router_name in seed_file) it
will use the SNMP oper status fields to set the interfaces as "up"

I am monitoring a network with all Bay Networks gear, the autodiscovery has
been completed and in the submaps on the routers it shows all serial links
as down.  I'm using Netview 6.02 on AIX 4.3.3, has anyone ran into this sort
of problem before?
