Eric,
We had the same problem while at NV 6.0.1, but it turned out to be a
problem with an AIX file set. Try upgrading to AIX 4.3.3 and hopefully your
problem will go away.

NetView for UNIX 6.0.2 on AIX 4.3.1
We recently upgraded our test NetView Server to 6.0.2 and a few times now when
we do an "ovstop" it hangs and never completes. When I did a ps -ef|grep OV I
got this:

When we try to kill those processes, /usr/OV/bin/pmd does not terminate. Even
with a kill -9. So we end up having to reboot
the server.
I have a PMR open on this but Tivoli has not seen this reported by other
customers. Has anyone of you run into this with 6.0.2? We have been running
NetView on AIX for years and have never seen this behavior before 6.0.2.
