I definatley did my 7.1 install with no network connection. I am on solaris
though not AIX. What would happen with no network connection (and presumably
no seed file) is that the local subnet only would be discovered - in this
case, the only adress on the local subnet will be the one within the box. I
assume that although you had not network connection, you have a network card
with a valid address on it.

first of all perhaps a nonsense. Did somebody try to install NetView
without a network conexion? Did it fail? Does anyody know what should
happen if i did so? Please, tell me your experience.
And now, i am trying to install NetView 7.1 in a non TME environment. So i
have tried with the release notes to install and i did not succeed. the
installation finishes "completed with errors" and you can see in the
installation log file some error messages like these:
