There is no relationship between a web browswer and the console.
The new client is not browswer based. I simply FTP'd the NWCINSTALL.EXE from
the web server onto my hard drive and executed it. The only thing I can
assume is you are trying to run this as an applet. If you are, I would
strongly encourage you not to because performance will be significantly
worse using the applett (and I wasn't even aware the aplet was an option in
v7.1) Am I off base here?

Subject: [nv-l] Web Console and IE 6.0
Hello Everyone.
NetView 7.1.1 on AIX 4.3.3 w/ ML 9
Anyone encountered any difficulty with Internet Explorer 6.0 and the Web
Console? I never get the login screen. I checked the Java Plug-In setup in
the Control Panel. I set the -mx64m in the Java runtime parameters.
If I use IE 5.x it works just fine. As soon as I access the URL the browser
will download the 1.3.1_2 plug in and proceed to the login screen.
Any suggestions?
