The minimum sizes are 5000 events in the db, with a purge interval of
1000.
If you set lower, your settings are ignored.
There should be a message to that effect in the nv.log.
NT users should get in the habit of looking at that file regularly

Subject: [nv-l] purge of events question
NetView 7.1 Windows2000
I have a question about purge of the events stored in the SQL database.
I use the default Access DB as SQL db, the trap daemon is configured to
store the events in to the SQL db, logging disabled, maximum number of
events to store set to 500 but the event viewer show actually more than
2000
events! It looks that here no purge was performed, a stop/restart don't
help.
Thanks
Cristian
