what i mean when i said delete a segment is physically delete a segment, so
a portion of my network
does'nt exist anymore. So how netview will react me on the event windows ?
i know that i can unmanage a segment with the right click of my mouse,
but what i would like to knows is how netview can understand the difference
between
a real segment down and a withdrawal segment ?
thank

Dominic,
The question I have, why would you want to delete any segments from the
map? NetView is discovering segments for you. If you delete a
segment, then NetView will rediscover it (probably) the next time it config
polls the router that has any interfaces in that segment.
Do you just not care about devices in that segment.....such as PCs on
people's desk? Instead of deleting it, just change the status to
"unmanage" for what you want NetView to ignore. It will leave it in the
map but remove it from the polling queues.
Kind regards,
