ovxbeep is not that sophisticated. It just does an Xbell command. If
there are any settings to re-direct the output, then they will have to be
set in .Xdefaults because NetView and ovxbeep know nothing about that
low-level stuff.

What is the best way to re-direct ovxbeep alarms output to the sound card
on the server? Through the audiocontrol tool under Solaris, I'm able to
re-direct the output to the out-line (external speakers) but I cannot make
X-windows alarms to actually use this output line. Other applications like
real player will use either one (internal or external speakers) as per the
audiocontrol tool settings. It seems to be a setting under X and I can not
find any way under /usr/OV/app-defaults for oxvbeep or ovxecho to change
it.

Thanks for any suggestions.
