Scott -
What's in the addtrap that was generated? Did the addtrap work? You can
do it again if you like.
I am sorry but I don't know what the story is, and I would not be able to
tell you unless I investigated the MIB, the mib2trap output, and the
result of running it.
You can fix this with xnmtrap, but if you want someone to look into the
problem further, I'm afraid you'll have to open a problem to Support. I've
done all I can here.

Subject: RE: [nv-l] IBM Tape Library Trap Format
I have used the mib2trap utility and run the script. When the traps come
in
they still have a "?" where the source "A" should be. Does this mean that
the trap still isn't properly defined in the trapd.conf? The vendor
provides
a v1 and a v2 MIB and the hardware's firmware can be switched between v1
and
v2 messages. I have loaded both sets of traps (one at a time removing the
previous ones first) and still get the ? for the source. Am I doing
something wrong here or missing a step?

Loaded the MIB? Loading MIBs does not format the trap in trapd.conf. You
need to run mib2trap for that. It produces addtrap output to add the trap
to trapd.conf.
Even so, it looks to me as though varbind 7 contains the important
information. So you will probably want to change the default formatting
provided by mib2trap into something more readable for the operators.

I am working with an IBM Tape library that sends traps to NetView when it
experiences issues. I loaded the MIB and when the traps come in they look
like below. Is there a step I am missing here?
