I currently have the same problem today and have restored the /usr/OV/databases/openview directory but the directory is not complete since the map is always runnign the TSM server did not backup all the files.  The file I need is the object file that points to each map.  What file is this and can it be moved over from another restore or does the whole openview directory need to come over as one piece?

Subject: [nv-l] Netview Restore

I have a question/challenge for the list.  I'm running Netview 7.1.1 on NT (Yeah I know that's my first problem).  Someone decided that Netview was consuming too much CPU and deleted the application from the Server.  Luckily the server is backed up with TSM.  The problem is we cannot do a full restore of the server because of other apps on the server.  My thought was to re-install Netview and change the service to manual, reboot the server and then have the TSM guys restore the ov file system.  We did this and the seed file came back, but the map appeared that it was rediscovering everything all over again.
My question is, is there a way to do this restore and bring back the map my support users are accustom to seeing?
Thanks!

For those of you that went to Planet Tivoli, the Netview/TEC BOF was good for us newbies , thanks Jane.
