Welcome to V7. The first thing you should do is apply the current
maintenance. Get it up to V7.1.3 and then get a few popular efixes. There
have been great improvements in discovery since V5.1, but you do need SNMP
access to the devices for Netview to know that those addresses are one
router. Perhaps you can export the snmp data from the V5 system
(xnmsnmpconf -exp <fname>) and import it into the new system.

If you are getting good SNMP responses, tell us more about the problem.

Hello,

I have just installed V7R1. I am running version V5R1 on another machine.

Has anybody seen, that V7R1 discovers Router-Interfaces more than one
time? V5R1 does not on the same Routers!

What can I do to prevent V7R1 from discovering new interface objects with
the same IP-Address? Our Core-Router has SIX different object IDs (and
representativ connection lines) on the same IP-Adress!

Kind Regards

Guenter Mueller
