In my experience the error "...remote host refused an attempted connect operation" means the number of processes per user needs to be increased.  You can do this via Smit on the remote node.

Hello,

i want trapgend work under AIX 5.2, is there any way ?
I get the following error from trapgend (etc/snmpd.conf + /etc/snmpd.peer
/etc/hosts are o.k.):

Tue Apr 15 17:30:40 MSZ 2003 (17082) trapgend   - connect_snmp(): smux_init
(): systemError [join_tcp_server failed: A remote
host refused an attempted connect operation.]

Ii changed back to snmp version 1, because trapgend seems not to know how
to work with snmpv3 ?!, me too.

Is it possible to generate an test-error via trapgend ?
Many Thanks for your answer.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Alexander Engler
