Netview 7.1.3 Solaris 2.7
I have a large frame relay hub and spoke network with ISDN use as backup
only. Netview is one router hop away from all remote devices. I am only
monitoring Cisco Switches in my remote locations, and Netview is only setup
to receive UP/DOWN status of the remote switches.
When the frame goes down and the ISDN comes up, events are being generated
by Netview that a switch is down. Since I have ISDN connectivity to the
remote site, I can only assume that Netview is not getting a reply from the
poll sent. If I read my SNMP configuration correctly, Netview will poll
devices every 5 minutes, re-try 3 times, and timeout after 2 minutes.
Okay here are my questions: Is this normal? Do I have something configured
incorrectly? Are Netview polls not reaching the switches because of
congestion and lower bandwidth of ISDN ?
Any advice welcome.
