There are no map graphics present for Switch Analyzer. Next release I believe.

Subject: [nv-l] NetView and Switch Analyzer

Hi listers,

Environment:

AIX 5.1
NetView 7.1.3
Switch Analyzer 1.2

How is NetView and Switch Analyzer supposed to properly display a configuration of a switch on a map?  According to the SA documentation, SA creates a network segment for each port to represent a connection between the port and the devices connected directly to it.

For some reason, NetView discovered the device properly as a switch and shows the one IP connection.  Then the switch shows a connection to 1 segment, however at least 5 ports are being used on the switch.  How do I get this to display properly on the map?

I did conduct a Demand Poll from NetView and it did see all the ports (told me they had no IP addresses).  Then I ran the ovtopodump -X command and got the following (the device is being recognized on the SA side):

Node ID  Object                  IP Status  L2 Status   IP Address       SNMP OID                        Layer 2 OID?
   734   10.249.32.164           Up         Unset       10.249.32.164    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.287             Yes

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott
