Have you tried extending the time-out value for polling this interface in
xnmsnmpconf?

Generally speaking, if an interface is shown as critical, and you can fix
that from the command line with a ping, what that means is that netmon's
ping is expiring before the response is returned. When you ping, netmon
is notified of the unexpected ping response and it changes the status
immediately, but then it times out again during the next cycle.

Hello ALL!
We have some troubles with Netview.
In our enviroment we use Netview 7.1.3 on Linux box + FP01.
NMS are in 192.168.1.0 network.
192.168.1.1 is default gateway.
At next hop there are 192.168.2.0 network.
Our def gateway has 192.168.2.1 interface and remote router has
192.168.2.2
i-face (it's ppp link).
192.168.2.2 has also 192.168.3.1 and 192.168.4.1 i-faces.
No snmp status checking used.

Netview always mark 192.168.2.2 as critical and 192.168.3.1,192.168.4.1 is
in normal state.
>From NMS i can ping 192.168.2.2, and Netview mark 192.168.2.2 as normal.
After scheduled status polling it becomes critical again.

Can anybody seen this before?
Best Regards.
Dmitry Baturin.
