If you want to populate an SQL database, you need to have NetView
installed on top of Tivoli Framework, install the NetView Database
option from the NetView CD and then run the appropriate scripts that
will be created in /usr/OV/scripts. There is a separate NetView manual
for database which is reasonably comprehensive.
The databases that can use SQL are trapd.log, the snmpCollect database
and the topology database (thouugh the latter is not recommended). If
what you want are reports on the object database, use nvdbformat as the
previous appender suggested.

Hello Forum,
Can someone help me understand where the DB files are stored for NetView?
I specifically need to know the names if possible. I've looked at
/usr/OV/databases, but don't know essentially what files contain the IP
Topology DB, Object DB, and Map DB.
I'm looking for a way to export these files so that I can parse them and
extract what I need to populate an external (centralized) DB.
Thanks in advance,
Dan
