Hi Michael,
if you have NetView V6.0.3 than it is working as designed that the router
is placed always into "IP Internet" submap.
If you have NetView 7.1.* then you will find the answer in Tivoli NetView
ReleaseNotes Version 7.1 at page 17 "Auto-placement of Routers".
MfG./ Best regards

Subject: [nv-l] location file
08.07.03 08:10
Hi,
We have a router (SNMP enabled) which has one ethernet interface and
multiple serial link interfaces. The IP address of the ethernet inteface of
the router is within a range specified in the location.conf yet when
discovered the router is not put into the location specified but Netview
leaves it on the Top level map. Why does Netview not put the router into
the correct location when other devices within the same range are placed in
the correct location.
Thanks,
Michael
