Well, the errpt says you are having a problem trying to format a trap, probably to send to TEC.
        _doprnt 88
        sprintf 68
        sprintf 68
        trp_forma B54
You read the stack backwards from the top. The last function is doprnt, a system call in sprintf, and that was called by the trap formatting routing, trp_format, so there is probably something weird in some trap which is causing the problem.  I'd be checking trapd.log around the time of the failure to see whether you can identify it.  You might also run the trapd.trace to capture the entire trap in case the problem is not shown in the log message.

And of course, you are a good two levels behind the current version of nvserverd.  You are at 7.1.2, the current code is 7.1.3 Fixpack 1.  If you aren't planning to migrate to a current level, (and that's probably the first thing Support will recommend) then they may insist that you run a more current debuggable binary of nvserverd and reproduce the problem at a level which matches the code they have.

Hello,

NetView 7.1.2
AIX 4.3.3

I'm having coredumps on nvserverd, sometimes several times a day,
sometime it is running OK for several days.
Attached is some output form errpt -a. There is also a core file in
/usr/OV/PD/cores/nvserverd.

The system is configured to forward events to TEC.

Before calling Support, any hints or tips ?

Bernard
