Nope.  That limit is not externalized.   
If you are using the List format, then double click the event and a static workspace copy will pop up in card format so that you can see all the details about that event.

I need to modify the field widths on the control desk display. Specifically
the hostname length when looking at the control desk in list format.
It appears to me that the hostname is limited to 14 characters in list
format.  Can this be done? I can't find field definitions in the
app-defaults directory.
