One way to do this would be to call a script (via Action) that does the appending and forwards to TEC via wpostemsg.

Subject: [nv-l] question in the ruleset

Hello,

NetView 7.1.3 on AIX 4.3

Can we setup a rule to append any suffix to the host name before forwarding the event to TEC?

for example if the system name is "xyz" this would be in the event as "xyz-1"

The reason for that is we have duplicate short names

Regards!

Hany Abadir
