when you exit xnmtrap, the FMTCHG event is supposed to be sent to trapd to tell him to re-read the file. If for some reason that didn't happen or the trap was queued before he did, then that might explain it. Issue "event -e FMTCHG" now and see whether that solves your problem. NetView 7.1.3 AIX 4.3.3 I am handing off some trap variables to a script using the Command for Automatic Action section of xnmtrap. I decided that I didn't want messages from one of the traps in a group so I removed what I had in the Command for Automatic Action and hit apply and get out of xnmtrap. The action still happened next time the trap came though though. I went back into xnmtrap and there is nothing in that block. Is there something that I am missing to make the changes apply?
