[nv-l] Off Topic: tcp_finwait2

Has anyone tuned the tcp_finwait2 parameter on AIX?
We are using the default of 1200 (half seconds) which is 10 minutes.
This causes a port like 9494 to hang for 10 minutes.
This is a real problem with the Tivoli gateway waiting to start with a hung port.
Are there any issues with reducing this value?  Is there a minimum ?
