An alternative is to use a TEC Rule that modifies the hostname to remove everything after the first (.) in yourname.yourdomain.com. We were doing this until recently on the TEC server. Until we started implementing Active Directory and now have multiple domains. We removed the rule from rulebase and now froward the fqdn for the TEC Slot hostname. If you would like a copy of the Rule to remove the domain.com and only post the shortname at TEC send me an email off-line from the group. Does anyone have an Idea how to forward the node down event to TEC with just the short name in the event. Currently we are forwarding the FQDN. Thank You! Rick Fernandez
