Albert,

Thanks so much for your wonderful reply. I was surprised that I hadn't
received more responses on this, now I see why, I posted to the wrong
list. Sorry about that.

Brian,

If you have a login to the IBM Tivoli Support site,
you can view their support platform matrix spreadsheet
here:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/sysmgmt/products/support/Tivoli_Supporte
d_Platforms.html

AIX5L support has been around for some time (5.1 since
2001 and 5.2 since 2002). The biggest issue with
Tivoli products and AIX5L is support of the Tivoli
products running in 64-bit mode, you'll see that at
most Tivoli products can only run in 64-bit toleration
mode.

Framework 3.7.1/4.1/4.1.1 are all supported on AIX5L
for TMR, Gateway and Endpoint. As far as your AIX5L
machine showing up as "aix4-r1" interp type, thats the
way Tivoli has coded it. There is no aix5 interp type
and there are no aix5 distinct endpoint libraries.

Here's an quote from Tivoli:
"One way to relate to this is the fact that all
Windows boxes (NT,2000,95,98,XP, etc) will be referred
to in Tivoli with an interp of "w32-ix86". The same is
true for AIX systems. All AIX (r1,r2,5,etc) will be
referred to as having an interp of "aix4-r1"."

FYI - there is a separate mailing list that deals with
Tivoli products outside of NetView: TME10

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/sysmgmt/products/support/TME10.html

Regards,
Albert
