Mario,

Morning,

You can create a SmartSet using CorrStat Attributes and you can create a
file with the sintax:

At the first line:

IP Hostname,CorrStat<1-4>

and the others lines with the list of all servers:

Banana,smartset_attribute
apple,smartset_attribute
.
.
.

After that you can run the nvdbimport -f <file_list)name> to input the
content of the choosed CorrStat on Netview Database.
After that, create a smartset rule using the respective CorrStat.

Good luck,

Marcos Pezzutti

Hi list,

Can the nvUtil command read a list of hostnames or IP addresses to create
a Smartset or simply populate one ?

I have to put all Unix servers (almost 600) inside a particular Smartset
but not all boxes have SNMP running, there is no naming convention or a
separate IP range for these boxes either ... so there is no way I can
create one or more conditions that ensure that all servers will be in the
Smartset ... so the ideal would be for nvUtil to read all servers from a
list, a flat file.

I have to do the same for Windows boxes.

At this point, enabling SNMP on all servers is not an option, for security
reasons.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
