Brian,

Is Netview discarding the event or is TEC discarding the event. I have
setup this exact scenario on the same platform as you. It my case, I setup
the new traps that I wanted to go to TEC as a new class, but didn't define
the class in a baroc file on the TEC server.

Also, if these are new traps, have you run the TEC_Config utility to make
sure that they are filtered "IN" ? Again, in our case I not only had to
define the traps in Netview as you have, but as a final step I had to make
sure that those specific traps were filtered "IN" so that the TEC adapter
would "pick them up" and forward them to TEC.

Subject: [nv-l] Trap flow to TEC

I have a Netview server on NT, and I am trying to set up the flow of
traps to TEC. For the traps loaded during the install (there are about
115 of them) the flow works fine, but I am trying to load new traps and
get the flow working. I have edited the enterprise into the
tecad_nv6k.oid file, and edited the .cds and .conf files - but nothing
happens. Looking in the trace file (I edited tecad_nv6k.err) it is
matching, but it is discarding the event.

Does anyone know how to get this flowing correctly? I am running
Netview 7.1.4 on Windows 2000, and the TEC Server (3.9) is loaded on the
same server.

Thanks,

Brian
