this are socalled "unnumbered links".
On Cisco boxes NetView is discovering the "neighbours" from the CDP cache:
snmpwalk <CiscoBox> .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.23.1.2.1.1.6

Hope this helps.

[nv-l] 0.0.0.0 interfaces

NetView 7.1.4 Fixpack 1 on Windows 2000 Professional

Above NetView manages L2 network consisting of over 50 switches. Some of
them are L3 switches (core switches) having only one managment IP managment
address, rest are simple L2 switches (having only one managment IP address
as well). On NetView map L3 switches are located on "IP internet" submap
(that's OK, probably because mib2.system.services field says that these are
L3 devices), while L2 switches are located on suitable IP subnet map (thats
OK for me too). But on "IP Internet"  submap L3 switches are directly
interconnected (almost full mesh), and every single switch have number of
0.0.0.0 interfaces (except it's normal managment IP address interface).
Number of these interfaces in particular L3 switch are the same as number
of this L3 switch direct interconnections to other L3 switch. Anyway, these
don't behave as typical connections - when you select connection and then
double-click device on end of this connection suitable interface is NOT
selected. Name of that 0.0.0.0 interfaces is like
"switch1name.domain:switch1name:xxx::switch2name:yyy" where xxxx and yyy
are integer numbers.

I'm quite confused... How shoud I interpret these 0.0.0.0 interfaces?
