You dont mention windows or UNIX? On UNIX just use server setup to create
a backup of /usr/OV.ALL. This will create a /usr/OV.back.vxrx directory.
Once you
have that, move it to whatever machine you want to install it on and
install it
there as a upgrade and you should be fine.
That being said, this is a pretty dumb idea. Not only does it cost them more
license-wise, but it is also going to be a nightmare to keep all the
maps looking
the same, there is going to be a significant amount of increase in
network traffic,
which in turn could cause problems on the routers traffic wise or CPU
wise as they
answer the same requests from multiple NetViews. There is a reason NetView
provides the web console......

Hi!
Is it possible to upgrade a NetView 7.1.4 installation from standalone
to server - i.e. keep all map configurations etc.? Customer wants to
run NetView console on more machines; not only on the NetView server.
