Do I want the (AP) one or the (non-AP) one?  This one failed when I
tried to untar it.

That is the correct file and you should be able to mount this image 
under Linux using:

mount -o loop /path/to/LCD7-0679-00.iso /path/to/mountpoint

Then just cd to your mount point and run the setup from there just like 
you would from the CD.
