Mario,
NetView is looking at the ifAdmin status of the interface, if it is ifAdmin down, netmon will mark it as User 1(Admin down). All I can imagine is the other routers are not properly setting the ifAdmin mib variable for the Serial 0 interface.

Hi all,
I have several routers in my environment that are using its Serial 0 interface as backup line for a Frame-Relay link connected to its other interface (Serial 1.1 mostly). For some of these routers, NetView gives the S0 interface a USER1 status (pink), thus showing the router object as UP (green) in the map, even the OperStatus being DOWN, as it should be. Conversely, for other routers, the Serial 0 interface status is DOWN (red), and the router icon is MARGINAL (yellow) because of it. There are no differences whatsoever between these routers that I can tell............how can I make NetView see all S0 interfaces status from these routers s USER1 ?? Thank you. Mario
