Hi Joe, I must have read your mind, see reply to James. I basically did very similar to what you suggest and problem is solved. Thanks for you help. Regards, Sue
Sue, You are trying to run mib2trap on this MIB by concatenating all the IMPORTS into a single file, right? I would do the following: The Cisco v2 MIBs include a file SNMPv2-SMI.my This has the OID definitions from RFC2578, which the MIB loader will need Just before the END statement in this MIB file, add a line saying Unsigned32 ::= Gauge32 (This was one of James Shanks's options) Concatenate in order 1. SNMPv2-SMI.my with the addition above 2. CISCO-SMI.my 3. CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB.my into a single file. Then run mib2trap and it should work. The problem you are running into may be caused by your mixing a Cisco v1SMI file with v2SMI files. At 05:04 PM 07-02-06 +1100, you wrote: Hi James, I included cisco-tc-v1smi.mib which solved the Unsigned32 problem (SNMPv2-SMI was already included but it doesn't appear to be the RFC 2578 version). I'm now getting Textual convention doesn't map to real type.(SEQUENCE): The mib I'm trying to load is CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL.my. I've concatenated all the mibs on the import list. Do you have any ideas. Many thanks in advance. Or you could use the cisco-tc-v1smi.mib we ship in /usr/OV/snmp_mibs in the same way. Or you could just edit the problem MIB and add this Unsigned32 ::= Gauge32 near the beginning. The error message is Textual convention doesn't map to real type.(Unsigned32): According to the imports list it is included in SNMPv2-SMI mib but it doesn't appear to be there. Perhaps my version of compiler doesn't support this. Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem without upgrading compilers.
