To all,
Description: This IBM Redbook will address the best practices when migrating your IBM NetView and IBM Switch Analyzer network mangagement environments to Precision IP. Part 1 - Planning the Migration Focuses on what to do before you commence the migration, and how to set the scope within the migration constraints and come up with your migration strategy. Understanding the benefits of the Precision IP archictecture will help the administrator develop and communicate the strategy. Part 2 - Migration Best Practices In Part 2, we look at migration tools and processes to configure Precision IP with information available in the NetView server. This will also include how to migrate specific customizations from the NetView application to Precision IP. Processes familiar to NetView operators will be documented using the Precision IP toolset, including recommendations for which features of Precision IP to explore first. Objectives: The objective of this residency is to produce a migration Redbook useful to both customers and field personnel.
