It was explained to me today that TEC gets its time from Java and not from the operating system. Its Java's time functions that needs to be updated. The same is true for the webserver and java console in Netview, and that's the java change that is included in FP5.

If you are not ready for FixPack 5, and I know some customers need months to roll out a FixPack, I believe you can get just the java fix by running a utility available from http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/dst/index.html

This may be of special interest to customers with TEC 3.9, whose fixpack 7 with the fix won't be out in time for March 11th.

My understanding is that you need NV 7.1.4 FP5 or NV 7.1.5, and you also need to patch your AIX 5.2 with TL8 (I recommend TL8-CSP) to get the OS ready for the DST change..

[NV-L] Daylights Savings Time Change

Hello,
Running on AIX 5.2 Netview 7.1.4 FP4
Reading the release notice on how the new changes to Daylights savings time effects Netview. http://www.ibm.com/support/alerts/daylightsavingstimealert.html
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=658&context=SSGMPW&dc=D600&uid=swg21248152&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en

If my Netview Server is using ntp and gets its time from the "atomic clocks" do I still have to upgrade to FP5 or Netview 7.1.5?
thanks
