Leslie,
This is on the console (I connect via remote desktop) and not via the web
interface. Typically I used this for routers and for each one the mouse
stops over it gives me a popup containing the complete list of all the IP
addresses on all the interfaces of that router. If I move the mouse over a
subnet icon then the popup gives me the IP address of the subnet. If I
double click on a router and then get all the icons representing the
individual cards in that router (with their respective colours) then I can
stop the mouse over a card icon and a popup will give me the IP address of
the card. As I said, this works for all the other possible values you can
set for the popup but just not IP Address (the one I use).
A very useful feature.
Regards,
Alan.

Are you hovering over a node or an interface? I don't work with Windows
much, but the 'IP Address' field is an attribute of an interface, as is the
mask. Nodes acquired a field 'SNMP ipAddress' a couple of years ago, but I
don't recall seeing it in the list of property tips in the web client.

Tivoli NetView Discussions [NV-L] IP Address
<nv-l@lists.ca.ibm.com> Display
Hi listers,
Having had my hardware replaced with a new shiny Windows Server 2003 R2, I
have taken the opportunity of upgrading from 7.1.4 FP4 to 7.1.5.. This
seems to work fine but I am getting one strange issue. I was wondering
whether I had missed something setup-wise or whether this was PMRable.
On the map I can set the type of attribute that is displayed when I hover
the mouse over an icons (as opposed to clicking on it). This could be
'label' or 'object name' or 'ip address' or one of many others and is
selected in the dropdown list at the top of the map.
I have always used 'ip address' but on 7.1.5 all I get displayed is 'No
Value'. Certainly the values exist because if I use object properties I
see them all. If I select subnet mask in the dropdown list then when I
hover the mouse over an icon I see all the subnet masks listed.
Has anyone seen this or is it just me? Has anyone any ideas on how I might
fix it?
Regards,
Alan.
