If you use the Java console via a browser,
then your pc must have the level of Java that the Netview server requires,
and presently that is 1.4.2. 
To free yourself from that, use the
standalone Netview java console instead. It carries its own Java. Download
and install it from the netview server in /usr/OV/www/wwwroot/download/nvwcinstall.exe.

Hello List!
 
I try to use the Netview Web
Console from a XP machine with JRE 1.5.0_11. 
The error message is: Applet
com.tivoli.netview.client.NetViewApplet notinited.
Error in the Java Console:
java.lang.ClassFormatError: Truncated class file.
With Java 1.4 is working fine!
(Windows 2003 Server, Netview 7.1.4 FP5) 
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
