Jeff,

the powerpoint presentation that was given when 7.1.5 was made available contains the following:


Unix:

  • Configuration on Primary
    • Set NV_NETMON_SYNC_TOPOLOGY=TRUE in netmon.conf
    • Configure trapd to forward traps to the secondary host
    • Run /usr/OV/bin/setSyncPrimary.sh (configures the 4 synch traps for forwarding)
  • Configuration on Secondary
    • Enable Polling and Discovery Settings must be enabled in nmpolling
    • Run /usr/OV/bin/setSyncSecondary.sh
        • Configures the SYNCHMANUNMAN event with action to invoke nvmaputil

Windows:
  • Configuration on Primary
    • Set NV_NETMON_SYNC_TOPOLOGY=TRUE in netmon.conf
    • Configure \usr\ov\conf\trapfrwd.conf
          [Hosts]
          secondaryhostname 0
          [End Hosts]
          [Traps]
          1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3 58785798
          1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3 58785799
          1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3 58785800
          1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3 58785801
          [End Traps]
    • Register trapfrwd daemon
          ovaddobj \usr\ov\lrf\trapfrwd.lrf
    • Configures the 4 synch traps
        • Run /usr/OV/bin/setSyncPrimary.sh
  • Configuration on Secondary
    • Run /usr/OV/bin/setSyncSecondary.sh
        • Configures the SYNCHMANUNMAN event with action to invoke nvmaputil

[NV-L] Topology Synchronization

Page 2 of the 7.1.5 release notes under the "New in this release" section:
"Ability to configure automatic topology synchronization between primary and
secondary Tivoli NetView servers."

I cannot find any documentation on how to configure this.  Can someone point
me in the right direction.
