I appreciate what Gareth says about TDW 2.1 (the one that comes with ITM
6.1) and NetView, however.......
IF you use the new nvcollectord daemons and (as he says) a LOCAL DB2
database, you CAN setup in ITM 6.1 a Universal Data Collector Query that
uses ODBC from an ITM 6.1 TEPS to effectively run SQL select statements
against the NetView Server DB2 SNMP database. I am working on this at
the moment.

What I don't have yet are the nice queries that result in pretty graphs
in an ITM 6.1 TEP. I have proved it to the extent of seeing tabular
information on the netview collections, targets, elements and
measurement tables (the 4 NetView database tables) in an ITM TEP GUI.

I am hoping to have more done on this next week. Anyone who can write
SQL queries welcome on the project! (my limit is pretty well "select *
from <table>")!!!

I will report here if I get something useful.

Cheers,
Jane

PS. Caveat - see my nv-l append of May 18th for issues I have with the
nvcollectord/nvpollerd. If ANYONE has these daemons working sensibly,
PLEASE send me a note here or by private email. Surely I am not the only
person tried this stuff?????????????
