ITSO code is written by the International Technical Support Center. It is
not officially supported because it is not part of any product. It is just
samples written by a group of IBMers who volunteered to work on that
project. So the answer to your question is, "No, the itsodepend function
has not been incorporated into NetView, nor will it be. And neither has
the ITSO re-written it in C. "

But as there is new function in NetView V5 which may make this question
moot. NetView V5 offers the collection utility, nvUtil, which allows you
to query a collection from the command line. It also allows you to add,
modify, or delete a collection. In addition, if what you want to do is
query a collection in a ruleset, that function has been built into the
Query Database Node.

Greetings, I am resending this message in the hope that someone can
shed some light on the subject...

                             -- o --

My question is regarding this, until now, 'unsupported' function.

Does anybody know if this process will be supported under NetView 5.1
and, if so, if the process has been changed to run in C language instead
of script. Currently, I think this runs as a script which makes it very
slow, specially when a lot of routers are involved.

With thanks,
