For those who have experience with IBM NWAYS (or some of the IBM'ers
subscribed here), I have a few minor issues I'm hoping someone can help
with. I am running Netview V5 on AIX 4.2.1 with NWAYS 1.2.1.

1. After NWAYS was installed, all IBM routers now have multiple symbols for
each interface on the interface submap. For example, each interface on a
6611 router is now represented by 1 IP card symbol labelled with the IP
address (as expected), along with 2 token ring LAN card symbols, 1 labelled
with the MAC address and the other with the interface number. Attempting to
select 1 of these will highlight all 3, so you cannot delete them. My
questions are: what is the purpose of these extra symbols, and can they be
eliminated?

2. Remote Monitor seems to default to using "public" as a community string
for each device initially, rather than the community string Netview is
configured for. How can I get it to use what Netview already knows?

Help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
