No. Loading MIBs does not and never has updated Event Configuration. You
must do that yourself. You can use the GUI or addtrap, or if you have
NetView V5 for UNIX you have a tool called mib2trap which attempt to make
an addtrap script out of your MIBs, but it has problems. These were fixed
in 5.1. For V5 however, you can still use mib2trap, but you will have to
manually edit the output to add a severity and a format so that the traps
will add. The restof what mib2trap does is otherwise OK. If you need
help on addtrap, please see the man page.

Subject: Loadiing MIBS - Event Configuration
Hello All-
I recenetly loaded the ibm8230 mibs through the Option...Laod/Unload
MIBS....SNMP panel. When I got into the Event Configuration panel
(Options...Event Configuration...Trap Customization) I expected to see the
Enterprise name and Enterprise ID displayed, but could not find them.
Should the loading of the MIB added entrys in the Event Configuration
panel?
Thanks
Dave
