Access permissions to different directories

Hi all,
Some directories in /usr/OV have the rights "rwx" for the group "others", like
./conf, ./clconf, ./filters, ./log, ./rtf .
For security reasons I'd like to disable these rights for this group. Are there
any complications to expect ???
