Sorry but I don't know the exact answer to this. netmon on NT does use
the oid_to_type file. Whether this particular trick regarding non-SNMP
supported nodes works, I cannot say. But it should be easy enough to test
if you really want to know. You could edit that file as if it were
supported, and edit the netmon seedfile to discover some node. Then ovstop
netmon. On the node you want to discover, go stop the snmpd daemon or
service so it cannot respond. If it is already in the database, then
delete it, so it can be re-discovered. Then restart the nemon and watch
what happens.

Sorry but I don't have an NT box available to play with at the moment and
the development notes I received on netmon on NT do not cover this issue.

I know this was asked before, but I don't remember seeing
a response...

Does this work on NetView NT V5.1, or is this only for UNIX?

Thanks.

Add the following line to /usr/OV/conf/oid_to_type:

DEFAULT_SNMP: : :U

Note, spaces between the colons are important. Restart netmon to pick up
the change. Rediscover to rebuild maps without the non-SNMP objects.
