First, I apologize to all those responded to my need for a new home for
NV-L for not getting back to you. I foolishly sent the message and then
took the Christmas/New Year holiday. And I got married. Beyond that, I
downloaded your responses at home and when I thought that another
department on campus was interested in taking this list I deleted
emails. So, I am back to square one.
The NV-L list is not trivial. There are over 1000 subscribers with many
of those subscribers being "exploders" at other campuses and companies.
I have no idea how many final recipients there may be. If you subscribe
to the list you know that there is a substantial amount of traffic. It
is not a task to be taken lightly.
So, I come once again, hat in hand (and supplying a bit more
information) asking if someone can host a list of this magnitude? I
have no experience in transferring a list and my only LISTSERV
experience is with L-Soft's LISTSERV which I have used since it Eric
used to give it away ... more years than many of you have been
programming! :-) I guess this means it will not be a trivial "turn key"
transfer unless you have a fair amount of expertise.
