Hi,

I didn't get too many responses on this on the general TME10 mail forum
so I'm trying here. Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi,

I am currently interested in configuring Distributed Monitoring
for a client. They have requested that it be installed on their AIX 4
machines. The source Media is an "AIX V4.2.1 Bonus Pack"
( LCD4-0201-10 ) and the fileset is:-

        Tivoli_Management_Agent.client.rte

Now I've installed this OK and the README.txt notes seem
straightforward enough ( although slightly incorrect ) in specifying
that the autostart.sh script be run at system boot to restart the
Agent.

But once I start it - what have I got? There seems to be no
inclusion in the /etc/snmpd.conf file for it, and so it doesn't seem
to be a SMUX sub-agent. Do I need to have special Tivoli
Distributed Monitoring software to manage and configure these
agents?

I have a TMR running and can get additional software if needed.

Thanks very much,

Simon Long
