Hi,
I am currently going through the process of trying to install and
configure a logfile adapter on an AIX4 Managed Node. Now
I seem to recall from somewhere that the adapter has to be an
endpoint and I have to have an Endpoint Gateway to handle it.
I suppose the main point I am making is I feel somewhat in the
dark as to the process involved. Here is what I have:-
1. TMR with 3 AIX Managed Nodes ( including the TMR Server )
2. TEC Server running on TMR Server with local Oracle Database.
3. TEC Console Running on other Managed Node.
I untar'd the ../non_tme/aix4-r1/logfile.tar to the following
directory location on a managed node :
/usr/local/Tivoli/bin/aix4-r1/TME/TEC/adapters
( It seems that you can't install using the desktop for these non_tme
products ).
Then I ran
/usr/local/Tivoli/bin/aix4-r1/TME/TEC/adapters/bin/init.tecad_logfile
start &
( I was unsure as to what configuration might be required in the
tecad_logfile.conf file ).
I tried to distribute a altered ACP to the node - I got the
following message:-
Distribute failed for some subscribers:
-> Distribute of profile 'Memory Log' failed for some subscribers:
-> Distribute failed for subscriber 'demo220.nettrack.com.au':
-> Fri Jan 22 11:57:29 EDT 1999 (22): `method' exited with code -256
I am concerned with how this all is supposed to tie together. I
apologise for
this rather laborious problem description.
Can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to be doing, and where I'm going
wrong?
